Polk’s Nature Discovery Center at Circle B Bar Reserve offers a variety of nature based activities for all ages. The month of June is all about how to explore the outdoors. You do not want to miss out on any of the fun family friendly activities that we have planned for you. Sign up for a tram tour, a workshop, community day, or just get outdoors and enjoy Polk’s Water, Wildlife, and Wilderness.

Caesar Weed Removal Hour
- Wednesday, June 11 from 4:15 p.m. – 5:15 p.m.
Please meet in front of the Nature Center at 4:15 p.m. to get started. Mr. Ayris will show you the invasive plant Caesar Weed, and tell you why it is important to remove the plants. Please dress to work outdoors. Bring gloves, a shovel with your name on it, and water to stay hydrated. Sierra Club “My Rides My Road” Workshop

Astronomy Night – “A Visit to Mt. Lemmon Observatory”

This is a free family-friendly event for all ages. You are welcome to bring your own telescopes if you have them, but one will be provided for you viewing enjoyment. Do not forget the bug spray, and bring a flashlight for the parking area as there are no lights on at night. Rain or shine. There will be a wonderful presentation on Mt. Lemmon Observatory located in Arizona.

Guided Hike (Provided by Florida Trail Association – Heartland Chapter)
- Sunday, June 29 from 8:30 a.m. – 10:30 a.m.
This is moderately paced walk with lots of opportunity to observe wildlife and we will see the new exhibit on the Florida Citrus industry along the Lost Bridge Trail. It will be a two-part walk: the first half will be 2.5 miles (approximately) and then those wishing to leave may do so; the second half will be another 2.0 miles (approximately).
